We are seeking a skilled Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Team Lead to join our CVICU Team at Methodist Hospital!

This position will be covering cardiovascular surgery ICU at Methodist Hospital. The provider will be working as a part of the Cardiovascular Surgery team providing care for Pre operative and post operative cardiovascular, vascular, thoracic transplant, cardiac medical patients located in the CVICU and in stepdown units.

Job Description:

• Full-time, Day shift 
  • 3 shifts 13.3 hours
  • No call 
• 100% inpatient 
• Procedures include: Intubation, Central line placements, Arterial line placements and Chest tube insertion. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Key Responsibilities:
  •    Patient Care Management: Oversee the assessment, treatment, and monitoring of critically ill cardiovascular patients, ensuring adherence to best practices and hospital protocols.
  •    Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor CVICU APPS, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Organizing scheduling and collaborating with management for staffing shortfalls. 
  •    Quality Assurance: Monitor patient outcomes, implement quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  •    Education & Training: Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for staff, ensuring competency in advanced cardiovascular care techniques.
  •    Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with cardiologists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other specialists to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  •    Resource Management: Ensure optimal utilization of medical equipment, supplies, and staffing to maintain efficiency and high standards of care.

Qualifications:

• Must be board eligible or board certified 
• Master's Degree Required
• Must be an ACNP
• Current CVICU APP with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience. Excellent communication skills, focused on exceptional patient care, organized and able to multitask
• Have excellent leadership and communication skills, willing to participate in training of newer providers, organized.
