AdventHealth Heart of Florida is a licensed 193-bed acute care hospital, coupled with outpatient services including imaging, rehab, lab and wound care, that has been serving the community for over 50 years.

The role you'll contribute:
The Cardiovascular Lab Registered Nurse is responsible for the coordination of patient care using a multidisciplinary approach to the Nursing process in accordance with the Hospitals Mission, physician, and patient expectations. These duties will be performed in an acceptable manner according to the hospitals mission, vision, goals and management expectations.

Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. Promotes the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Follows CDC isolation guidelines, appropriately uses PPE, and performs hand hygiene according to accepted standards of care. Identifies and prepares patient using aseptic technique as dictated by procedure ordered. Exhibits awareness of hazards which may endanger patients. Ensures adherence to regulatory standards and enforces safety regulations. Annually meets all required department specific competencies
- Verifies orders and facilitates implementation, communicating with physician as needed. Performs treatments and administers medications according to policy and training. Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies. Evaluates effectiveness of interventions and medications. Performs within the bounds of the applicable scope of practice.
- Facilitates timely patient throughput
- Advocates for and protects the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
- Demonstrates an organized approach to daily workload.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to approved standards of aseptic technique.
- Administers IVs, medications, and contrast material under the supervision of the attending physician.
- Assesses the patients status on arrival and throughout the pre- and post-recovery phase and/or the procedure by demonstrating knowledge of electrocardiographic, hemodynamic, and hematological data updating the physician of any potential life-threatening changes throughout the procedure.
- Provides patient and family education based on assessment of learning readiness, needs, and ability, and evaluates the effectiveness of teaching.
- Takes call as rotated/assigned and responds (in hospital) per policy
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Graduate of a school of nursing
Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse
Valid certification(s) per attached Life Support, EKG, and Stroke Requirement document.
BLS, ACLS
