The role you’ll contribute:
May perform the duties in compliance with the role and responsibilities specific to the Nurse Technician,
having demonstrated competency in nursing school and under the direct observation of a licensed nurse (RN/LPN). Primary function is to assist with the basic care needs of the patient as well as to perform
clinical skills as assigned which may include but are not limited to: basic care routines and procedures, vital signs, glucometer skills. This position proactively functions as a team member in the delivery of safe, competent, therapeutic and cost-effective patient care, assisting in the care of the following patient populations: geriatrics, adult, adolescent and pediatric patients.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Performs patient care and reports observations in accordance with the department policy:
Assists the patient with activities of daily living as ordered by the physician (i.e. ambulating, up in chair, turning etc.)
Responds to patient call lights/bells, cares for the needs of the patient according to her/his skill level.
Welcomes new admission, orients patient to room, completes valuables list, prepares personal items, zeros the bed scale and records vital signs.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
High school diploma or (GED) equivalent is required
Must be currently enrolled in, or graduated from, an approved school of nursing program
Basic Life Support certification
Ability to communicate verbally in English and in written form with persons of varied backgrounds in a respectful, effective and professional manner.
