The Assistant Nurse Manager demonstrates a high level of clinical expertise leadership and creative approaches to management of complex care of the Acute Care unit for Nursing Service. The Assistant Nurse Manager demonstrates a high level of clinical expertise, leadership and creative approaches to management of complex care. In addition, applies clinical skills necessary to identify, coordinate and/or identify discipline-specific education, as well as training, leadership, professional staff development and emerging needs, to all levels of staff. The Assistant Nurse Manager provides oversight for the administration of leave, counseling and disciplinary action in collaboration with the Nurse Managers. Acts as the Nurse Manager during times of Nurse Manager absences. The Assistant Nurse Manager is registered professional nurse who is accountable to the assigned Nurse Manager. In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, function as a supervisor and assumes accountability for the operation of assigned unit. This included the management, supervision and evaluation of care delivered by nursing and other allied health care staff. As a registered nurse, the Assistant Nurse Manager is also responsible for contribution to the establishment and implementation of evidence based nursing standard of practice.
