The Registered Nurse position is located at the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System location. The NFL/SGA VA Health Care System is current recruiting for an Interdisciplinary Pain Management Clinic RN. This position will work within the outpatient Interdisciplinary pain management clinic to support Veteran's with chronic pain and mental health modalities. The Registered Nurse provides care and counseling of persons or in the promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness and injury based upon the nursing process which includes systematic data gathering, assessment, appropriate nursing judgment, and evaluation of human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case finding, health teaching, health counseling; provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being. The Registered Nurse's primary commitment is to the patient, whether an individual, family, group, or community (ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses). Duties include but are not limited to: Provides initial & ongoing assessments for panel of patients Strong computer skills required. Provides face to face, VVC, and phone visits for highly complex patients with comorbid mental health disorders (addiction, PTSD, depression, anxiety, etc) and chronic pain Conduct Patient and Family education including management of chronic diseases Patient assessment and critical thinking Procedural skills (Suboxone therapy, EKG's, ABI's, bladder scans, wound care, etc) Computerized records management (managing, recording, and tracking patient data) Participate in coordination and collaboration of the Interdisciplinary pain management clinic group Conduct healthy lifestyle coaching and education Customer service Provides education to patients, families and significant others; administers medications and treatments; participates in the quality improvement process; and is attuned to the needs of the patients. Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Recognizes subtle abnormal signs and symptoms and/or changes in patients' condition and responds appropriately. Updates plan of care as needed based on patient responses. Organizes and completes own assignments in a safe and timely manner, assisting team members as necessary. Demonstrates grade-appropriate and consistent critical thinking skills. Demonstrates compliance with infection control practices, such as hand washing and wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment. Above average clinical and health assessment skills required. Provides feedback to supervisor on performance of others and participates in peer reviews as requested. Demonstrated strong leadership and/or management skills. Demonstrated strong teaching skills. Excellent skills in interpersonal relations with the health care team and general public; strong/family advocate. Creativity, flexibility, and the ability to work in fast-paced changing environment. Team player who is proactive to change. Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm OR 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Financial Discloser Report: Not required
