The Scholarship Program Coordinator role will include the Employee Incentive Scholarship Program and local tuition program, including but not limited to, recruitment, budget management, invoices, tracking, mentoring, and more. In addition, the incumbent supports clinical education initiatives, which includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive orientation, staff development, and continuing education programs for clinical staff using a multidisciplinary approach. FUNCTION: This RN will be directly responsible to the Education Nurse Manager and have responsibility at all sectors of the VA St. Louis Health Care System (John Cochran Division, Jefferson Barracks Division and off-campus clinics). The Scholarship Program Coordinator/Clinical Instructor is a professional nurse who functions as a leader/facilitator, teacher, and resource person in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programs, including local and national scholarship programs for eligible staff members. This RN also engages in staff education and development initiatives for nursing and other clinical staff using a multidisciplinary approach. The Scholarship Program Coordinator/Clinical Instructor promotes a model of continuous learning through participation in education, consultation, role modeling, and research. This position may include other clinical or administrative assignments necessary to meet the mission of the Health Care System. This RN will be required to rotate shifts on a recurring basis, to include variations of the normal duty hours and days. Assumes essential personnel status during emergencies. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. A minimum three years of clinical practice. 2. Recent patient care experience preferred (within past five years). 3. Program management experience preferred 4. MSN Preferred EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: 1. Bachelors Degree in Nursing is required.
