The VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System is seeking a Nurse Care Manager in our Pulmonary Section of Medicine Service. The RN care manager is assigned administrative and leadership responsibilities for the Pulmonary and Bronchoscopy Clinics along with the Chief, Pulmonary Section. The incumbent will be responsible for individual and/or disease based care management and overall coordination of care for the Pulmonary and Bronchoscopy Clinics. The nurse must demonstrate leadership in delivering and improving holistic care to adult and geriatric populations through collaborative strategies and in compliance with either the Michigan or Ohio Nurse practice acts, in addition to Medical Center and Departmental standards. The incumbent provides direct nursing care to individual and groups of patients under the guidance and direction of the specialty Clinic and ER, and assists with the direction and supervision of other assigned clinical and/or clerical staff. The nurse reports directly to the Chief, Pulmonary Section for clinical responsibilities. A clinical competence review is conducted by the Chief, Pulmonary Section and designated peer, nurse educator, or nurse supervisor. The nurse performs his/her duties independently on a day-to-day basis, although he/she will consult on a regular/daily basis with the Chief, Pulmonary Section, to insure appropriate communication. The Nurse Manager for Specialty Clinics and ER and designated peers will provide input about clinical responsibilities and clinical competence review through collaboration with the Chief, Pulmonary Section. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM -May be required to work evenings -May be required to work weekends Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
