| Summary
The Bed Control Coordinator is responsible for coordinating inpatient bed assignments for patients at St. Francis Memphis Hospital and St. Francis Bartlett. The incumbent optimizes and prioritizes patient flow activities throughout the system, such as ER admissions, ICU downgrades as well as coordinates and facilitates the patient�s entry into St. Francis from other health care facilities.
Key Job Responsibilities
Receives and processes telephone calls from doctors, house supervisors, patient access or any transferring facility, requesting assistance with admissions and transfers.
Collaborates effectively with hospital staff, medical staff and on-call specialists.
Maintains a high degree of familiarity and demonstrates compliance with all established policies and procedures related to coordination of patient referral and transport.
Receives phone orders from doctors and places admission orders in Cerner.
Qualifications:
Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or related health science.
Preferred: Academic degree in nursing (Bachelors or Masters degree) or related health science.
Experience
Required: Two (2) years of related healthcare experience.
Certifications
