Supervises programming for a clinical program(s) and coordinates care across the continuum.
Plans, implements, evaluates, and coordinates clinical program. Plans, implements, evaluates, and coordinates patient care and education. Consults to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery across the continuum and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Trains, coaches, and evaluates associates on performance expectations and applies progressive discipline when appropriate. Facilitates patient flow and assists with necessary resources for safe and prompt discharge. Analyze and incorporate current clinical and business trends. Provides immediate direction and supervision of nursing associates and support staff. Prioritizes, monitors, and delegates tasks to all staff on unit(s). Measures, evaluates and documents staff competencies. Identifies opportunities for staff development. Facilitates required departmental adjustments to ensure cost effective delivery of quality care and services. Provides input into the budgetary process. Assists Directors and Managers to achieve established financial goals that support the CHN Mission. Serves as liaison for physicians and staff.
Supervises area activities and procedures as appropriate; accountable for interviewing, hiring and disciplinary actions.Writes new procedures and protocols based on identified needs within the unit.
Qualifications: LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Required: Valid current Arizona Nursing License or compact state license and ability to become Arizona Licensed in 30 days. Certification Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) ï¿½ American Heart Association and any combination of the following as required by the individual department: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) ï¿½ American Heart Association, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Certification in area of clinical specialty required within one year. (This due date may be extended if the eligibility requirements of the credentialing body cannot be adequately met within a one-year period.)
EDUCATION: Required: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. Preferred: BSN, Bachelor (BS, BA) in related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Required: Five (5) years nursing related experience. Preferred: Supervisory experience or experience working in lead or charge capacity.
