Key Responsibilities include:
Participate in the development and practice of the field of nursing in accordance with the facility and department's philosophy, objectives, standards, policies and procedures
Plan, provide, and evaluate patient care through quality Nursing Assessments
Document observations, treatments, interventions, patient teaching and responses according to the facility and department's policy and procedures
Develop staff assignments at the start of the shift and delegates tasks to appropriate staff and takes responsibility to ensure that the delegated tasks are completed prior to end of the shift
Serve as a leader and role model for patients and hospital staff
Develop a therapeutic relationship with patients using strong communication skills and that incorporates the treatment plan goals, objectives, and interventions
Maintain a therapeutic and patient-centered milieu on the unit
Attend treatment team meetings and collaborates with physicians, therapists, and other team members in planning patient care
Administer patient medications as prescribed by physician in a safe, accurate and timely manner utilizing the "Five Rights" of medication administration.
