Under minimum supervision, directs the operations and strategic planning of patients/customers services, human resources and financial management for the Behavioral Health Services. Plans, directs and coordinates the activities of the professional and supportive nursing personnel. Regulates activities of these nursing units (Adult and Adolescent Psychiatric and Psychiatric Emergency Services), analyzes and evaluates nursing services rendered. Manages resources and provides leadership to accomplish Hospital, Nursing, and Department goals. Collaborates with Nursing and Medical Leadership.
Education: BSN. Master’s Degree in Nursing/Administration or related field from an accredited college or university or degree in process with deadline for graduation.
Experience: Typically, five years of directly related experience. Progressive leadership experience with an acute care hospital or related operation.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: General: Communication skills to interact effectively with Denver Health’s current service/client base, prospective customers, and all levels of Denver Health management. The ability to perform financial analyses including forecasting, assisting in exploring strategic options and developing creative solutions to complex business issues. The ability to interpret, analyze and explain financial and statistical information. The ability to systematically gather information from a variety of sources, analyze information, identify implications of data, draw appropriate conclusions, generate viable alternative solutions to a question or problem and evaluate the consequences of choosing each alternative. Specific: Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements. The ability to establish, implement and continually update competency/skills checklist for nursing staff.
Certificate/License/Registration: State of Colorado Nursing License. BLS/CPR. All Certifications and Licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.
