The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse, Clinical Level II is responsible for providing acute cardiovascular specialized patient care in a safe and effective manner from admission to discharge or inpatient transfer. Additional responsibilities include directing unlicensed staff, patient assessment, planning of care, post-procedure observation, non-invasive procedure interventions, patient/family teaching, and implementation of a treatment plan and physician orders, documentation and evaluation. Nursing care is delivered to a patient population ranging from adolescent through geriatric. The Circulating nurse in Cardiovascular Observation Unit (CVOU) is responsible for the care of patients undergoing procedures such as: Cardioversions, Tilt Table, TEE, EBUS, Bronchoscopies and Loop Recorder Insertions.
Saddleback Medical Center is a STEMI, Stroke and Thrombectomy Capable Receiving Center. This Cardiac Recovery (CVOU) RN position includes care for the preoperative and postoperative patients in the following specialty areas: Invasive Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, Peripheral Vascular, Neurovascular Interventions and TAVR procedures. In addition, supports moderate sedation care provided for TEE, Cardioversions, Bronchopscopy and EBUS procedure patients.
One year Cath Lab, Vascular Lab and/or EP Lab experience preferred
Two years critical care experience and hemodynamic monitoring skills preferred
Two years telemetry experience with excellent arrhythmia recognition required
