Administers an assigned nursing program or organizational unit with responsibility for planning, selecting, and/or devising the methods and policies/procedures to be used and for directing nursing supervisors and/or other personnel in the accomplishment of designated goals. Negotiates interdepartmental resources, communicates and plans with managers of staff in other departments to ensure effective level of service to the unit/program.
Current R.N. license in the State of Texas required.
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. B.S.N. required. M. S. N. or related field preferred.
A minimum of five (5) years of nursing management in an acute care setting is preferred. Must possess experience in staffing, scheduling, staff development, personnel management and financial management.
Ability to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of self or others. Ability to effectively communicate with patients and provide competent care as appropriate to the ages of patients served by this position.
