Reports to the Divisional Director of Heart and Vascular Center and is under the general supervision of the Physicians of the Structural Heart Clinic, the attending Physician of Record. The nurse practitioner is responsible for the development and evaluation of treatment plans for inpatients. The Nurse Practitioner assists in the care and management of structural heart patients to include, but not limited to: admission history and physical, ongoing assessment, follow up, and intervention, with coordination of care for the cardiac inpatient population. All essential functions performed in this positions reflect the age specific needs of the patient. Through collaborative agreements with all Structural Heart Clinic physicians, primary responsibilities include, ordering, conducting, interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescription of pharmacological agents and non-pharmacologic therapies. The nurse practitioner will provide routine post procedure care to include but not limited to access site care, wound care, suture removal, coordinating and conducting pre-admission testing for all complex Interventional Cardiology patients, Coordinates the daily operational activities required for patient coordination for the structural heart program with the assistance of clinic support staff. This includes: Mitral Clip, TAVR, Watchman, and other structural heart therapies. Works with Heart Valve Navigator to assure that the Structural Heart Center is compliant with regulatory standards of care. Actively contributes to the mission and success of the Heart Valve Center through various activities.Â Â Service Excellence Standards are required and all other duties as assigned.
